Smithtown Fire Explorers

Membership in Explorer Post 420 is open to hardworking and dedicated young men and women of the community.

If you are interested in joining us, please read the following policies regarding new recruitment and membership:

* Applicants must be a resident of the Smithtown Fire District, or any neighboring Fire Districts that do not have an operating juniors program.

* Applicants must be at least 14 years of age and no older than 17 years of age.

* Applicants will not be accepted during the months of October, November, and December.

* Active membership in this Post is limited to 30 members.

* Applicants in excess of 30 will be placed on a waiting list on chronological order.

* Applicants must attend one Post meeting/training session prior to submitting applications.

* All Applicants must be approved by a Post adviser and Post Officers.

* New members shall have a probationary period of six months beginning at approval of membership.

* All members must pay dues of $2.00 per month to the Post treasurer.  

* To remain an active member in this Post, members must attend at least 60% of all scheduled Post activities.
